Visa Announcement: Limited Visa Appointments for F, M, and J Visa Applicants
The U.S. Embassy Riyadh and the Consulates General in Dhahran and Jeddah are pleased to announce that we have resumed limited visa appointments for student visa applicants applying for F, M, and J visa categories only.
We look forward to assisting all students intending to study in the United States. However, due to COVID-19 social distancing and other requirements, visa appointment availability remains severely limited. Initially, priority will be given to students, who have previously been issued U.S. student visas and whose study start dates are imminent. Applicants may submit an expedited appointment request if their planned travel date is within the next 3 weeks.
Only students who have a valid I-20 form (also known as a Certificate of Eligibility) issued by their universities may qualify for an F or M student visa. For questions about compliance with Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) guidance and Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) requirements, we refer you to the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement website section on nonimmigrant students available at https://www.ice.gov/coronavirus.
Applicants should also visit our websites https://ustraveldocs.com/sa/ or https://sa.usembassy.gov/visas/ for updates regarding the change in visa processing operating status.
