On July 25, the Embassy of the United States of America in Riyadh participated in the launch of the second Women Innovators (WIn) Fellowship, which will provide 34 Saudi women entrepreneurs with a year-long series of mentoring, networking, and business opportunities.
U.S. Ambassador Michael Ratney congratulated this year’s participants, highlighting that, “it is an honor for us to support rising female leaders across Saudi Arabia through programs like the WIn fellowship.” HRH Princess Reema bint Bandar Al Saud, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to the United States, also appeared in a recorded message at the launch event, held at the Riyadh location ‘The Garage’ a Saudi innovation hub created to support emerging tech startups.
The WIn Fellowship is a women’s entrepreneurship and empowerment partnership between U.S. Embassy Riyadh, the Atlantic Council, Georgetown University’s McDonough Business School, and PepsiCo. It delivers a year-long virtual program that includes mentoring and networking opportunities with leading U.S. and Middle East business executives, government officials, and policy professionals. At the end of the program, five WIn program participants will participate in a one-week exchange in the United States in Washington, DC.
With women’s participation in the Saudi economy on the rise, the United States is committed to help empower women’s economic participation and strengthen ties between emerging American and Saudi women business leaders.
