You are required to use the Passport Wizard to complete your application. Please bring your printed application to your interview. Handwritten applications will not be accepted. Making use of the Passport Wizard allows us to process passports more quickly, meaning they are returned to you earlier. Be advised that forms must be completed and printed prior to your appointment. If you do not bring the necessary completed form using the Passport Wizard, we reserve the right to ask you to reschedule your appointment.
Note that mailing options are only available in the United States and that you must still show up in person to the US Embassy or Consulate General in order to submit your application by appointment. Click here to make an appointment.
First-Time Passport Applicants Born in the United States
You need to establish 3 things:
- Citizenship (ie. US birth certificate)
- Identity (ie. foreign passport in the same name)
- Proof of parents’ status in the US at time of your birth (ie. parents’ old passports/visas prior to your birth)
Notes: If you do not have your parents’ old passports, evidence of their employment and school attendance may be submitted for consideration. If your identity or parentage is not clearly established, you may be required to submit childhood photographs with immediate family members.
You need to bring 3 additional things:
- Fill out DS-11 passport application through the Passport Application Wizard. Instructions are also available through http://www.travel.state.gov/. Please PRINT YOUR APPLICATION upon completion.
- $135 or 513 SAR for adults; $105 or 399 SAR for children under 16. Fees can be paid in cash with either U.S. dollars or Saudi Arabian Riyals or by credit card. The Consular Section cannot accept checks.
- Two color passport photos, white background, 2″ x 2″ (5 cm x 5 cm
First-Time Passport Applicants Born Outside the United States

- Fill out DS-11 passport application through the Passport Application Wizard. Instructions are also available through http://www.travel.state.gov/. Please PRINT YOUR APPLICATION upon completion.
- $135 or 513 SAR for adults; $105 or 399 SAR for children under 16. Fees can be paid in cash with either U.S. dollars or Saudi Arabian Riyals or by credit card. The Consular Section cannot accept checks.
- Two color passport photos, white background, 2″ x 2″ (5 cm x 5 cm)
- Proof of U.S. citizenship of parent(s). Proof can be established by various evidentiary means, but the simplest and most reliable are production of a U.S. passport, certified U.S. birth certificate, certificate of naturalization, or certificate of citizenship.
- Parents’ marriage certificate.
- Divorce decrees or death certificates of all prior spouses of parents.
- Proof of the relationship between the applicant and parents.
A foreign birth certificate showing the parents names is required. If non-existent, religious records (e.g. baptismal certificate; entry in family bible; etc.), family photos, or DNA analysis may be required. - Proof of physical presence or residence in the United States.
- Passports or identity documents of the parents, if the applicant is under age 16.
