.S. Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Joseph W. Westphal on the Occasion of the Visit of Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the United States
“I welcome Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to the United States. His visit provides an important opportunity to continue our conversations on a variety of topics of mutual concern, including countering terrorism, economic cooperation, and a range of regional security issues.
The bilateral relationship between the United States and Saudi Arabia spans more than 80 years. We continue to work together to address a number of critical bilateral and regional issues. Together we cooperate in matters of defense, counterterrorism, commerce, education, science and technology, agriculture, and many other items of mutual interest. Our relationship remains strong and we value our partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. And we look forward to discussing Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and National Transformation Program for diversifying its economy and meeting the aspirations of its citizens.”
