Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo met yesterday with Saudi Deputy Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman.  Secretary Pompeo and the Deputy Minister discussed the importance of bilateral cooperation to confront the Iranian regime’s continued destabilizing activities in the region.  They discussed recent attacks on the Aramco facilities in Saudi Arabia, and the Secretary agreed that Saudi Arabia has every right to defend itself and its borders.  The Secretary thanked the Deputy Minister for his continued efforts to further a political resolution to the conflict in Yemen.  The Secretary and the Deputy Minister also discussed the need to safeguard freedom of navigation and human rights.
