Remarks by Chargé d’Affaires on Chemical Weapons Attacks in Idlib
The United States strongly condemns the chemical weapons attack in Idlib province which killed dozens, including many children. This shameful act is unacceptable and cannot be ignored by the global community. Bashar al-Assad operates in a brutal and barbaric way. Anyone who uses chemical weapons to attack his own people shows a fundamental disregard for human decency. We call on Russia and Iran to exercise their influence over the Syrian regime to guarantee this sort of horrific attack never happens again.
