Message for U.S. Citizens: Renew your U.S. passport now

The U.S. Mission to Saudi Arabia encourages U.S. citizens to review their passport expiration date and renew it if necessary.  We ask that you renew your passport early!  Many countries require U.S. citizens to have at least six months validity on their passport for entry; you can review your destination’s requirements here.

You can mail in your passport renewals.  Adult passport applications that qualify for the mail-in renewal program can be sent to the U.S. Embassy and Consulates General in partnership with SMSA Express.  This does not require an appointment and is the most efficient way to process adult passport renewals.  More information can be found on our website.  You can also make an appointment for passport renewal services on our website.

The Consular Section receives passport applications and sends them electronically to the United States for processing and printing. Most passports are returned within two weeks.

If you have an emergency request, please email the ACS unit nearest to you: RiyadhACS@state.govJeddahACS@state.gov; or DhahranACS@state.gov.
