Event: The U.S. Consulate-General in Jeddah is following an explosion that occurred at the non-Muslim cemetery in central Jeddah. American citizens are advised to avoid the nearby area and exercise caution in public places.
Per the Department of State’s August 31, 2020 Travel Advisory, “Terrorist groups continue plotting possible attacks in Saudi Arabia. Terrorists may attack with little or no warning, targeting tourist locations, transportation hubs, markets/shopping malls, and local government facilities.”
