These programs are augmented by local opportunities in countries around that world that allow non-U.S. citizens to explore U.S. culture and the English language. Regional English Language Office (RELO)
The United States is a great destination for international students seeking to learn English or improve their English skills. There are over 400 educational institutions that offer English language programs, spread across the many geographic and cultural regions of the United States.
The U.S. Mission in Saudi Arabia offers a number of exchange programs designed to give Saudi citizens enriching academic, professional, and personal experiences in the U.S.
The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program brings accomplished professionals from Saudi Arabia and the world to the United States at a midpoint in their careers for an academic year of study and professional experience. The program provides a basis for establishing long-lasting, productive partnerships and relationships between citizens of the United States and their professional counterparts in Saudi Arabia and the world, fostering an exchange of knowledge and mutual understanding.
The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD) is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. It is a fully-funded scholarship for one semester of non-degree academic study at an assigned U.S. college or university. The program includes pre-academic English language training (if needed), academic coursework, service learning opportunities, professional development workshops, and cultural enrichment activities.
Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSIs) for Scholars and Secondary Educators are post-graduate level academic programs for mid-career foreign scholars, faculty, practitioners, and secondary educators whose purpose is to strengthen curricula and to improve the teaching about the United States in academic institutions abroad.

The Local Student Intern Program (Foreign National Student Internship Program) is designed for local students who are non-U.S. citizen seeking internship with U.S. Missions abroad. The program benefits both Saudi students and the U.S. Mission in Saudi Arabia. The program provides local students with valuable educational and international affairs experience, and assists the Mission in accomplishing its goals in bilateral relations, employment recruitment, and the development and maintenance of a diverse workforce.
